F-35 JSFs For The Israel Air Force

In Israel, Defense Minister Ehud Barak approved the purchase of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) by the Israel Air Force, finally after months of deliberation.
The F-35 JSF is a fifth-generation stealth jet that is said to be capable of evading all radars and anti-aircraft missile systems.
Defense Minister Ehud Barak said: "The F-35 will provide Israel with continued air superiority and help retain its qualitative military edge in the region. The plane will provide the air force with improved capabilities in ensuring Israel's security when operating near and far away."
Even if the Pentagon has approved the Israeli request to purchase 75 aircrafts, Israel plans to buy only 20 JSFs for an estimated $2.75 billion, initially. This deal includes simulators, spare parts and the cost of routine maintenance. Expected to last for some two years, delivery of the said jets will begin in 2015.
